For this CHILD I have PRAYED....

and the LORD has answered the DESIRES of my HEART.
-1 Samuel 1:27

Today I got to see my daughter's precious face for the first time. I learned that she was born August 30, 2009. She is simply beautiful and my heart is filled with joy. I pray the Lord will keep her safe, loved, & healthy until we get there to bring her home. I also pray we are able to pass court without any challenges. I am blessed!

Illien Christmas Greeting!!!

Smilebox Playback

Merry...snowy...Christmas!!!

The ice has left and the snow has arrived. I love it when it's coming down, but hate it when it gets sloppy. Can't help but wonder where my little girl is and how she is spending this holiday. Next year she will be celebrating with us...I can't wait.

One step closer to Saige!

I'm #2 on the list to be matched. It's getting real. She is out there somewhere many miles away being cared for by caregivers that are responsible for many. Soon her world will change again. A family and a world unfamiliar.

APPROX. 30 DAYS!!!!!!

I spoke to my agency today and got a few details. I will be the 4th family from CAN to adopt from Ethiopia. I am currently #3 on the agencies list to be matched. They have 28 families currently with referrals, 8 dossiers in Ethiopia waiting for a match, & 6 dossiers being sent. This year there will be 3000 China adoptions and 2300Ethiopia adoptions (Ethiopia is increasing as China continues to slow down). Our agency has 3 orphanages in Addis, but the government has put a stop to international adoption of abandoned children in Addis. The challenge is finding homes for the homeless children while making sure there is no corruption (tough job). For this reason our agency is partnering with another agency in Sebeta (40 miles north)while they are working on transitioning out of Addis until they are able to put a system in place to prevent corruption.....I can't hardly believe that after 4 years of waiting I will see my baby girls face sometime in the next 30 days!
